San Jose Hotels - Where the High Tech Happens
San Jose is located conveniently in the Silicon Valley. This means there are a lot of conventions and a lot of tech meetings from the geeks in town. If you are one of those geeks or just here pretending to like star trek, you will want to read this. We'll map out many of the hotels nearby, their prices, and what to look for. I will not mention the Holiday Inns or the Double Trees. These are convention hotels, where the meetings will be and the people to see, the best and fanciest. When it comes to finding a great place for attendees to stay this is the article to read. San Jose's hospitality makes this an easy task, in a city that would make anyone feel at home. Wyndham Hotel Only one and a half miles from the San Jose airport is the beautiful Wyndham Hotel. The entire Hotel was renovated in 2005. They have 4 large meeting rooms, with the California Ballroom being pretty massive. It is 3 miles from the convention center, and has plenty of rooms to accommodate a large amount of people (335/5). Clarion Hotel The Clarion does not have to try hard to get a resort feeling out of you. Much like the Wyndham it is only a mile from the airport. The reason we listed this hotel is the ballroom. The 2,500 sq. foot ballroom opens to a beautiful covered patio with a trellis and view, next to tropical gardens and a putting green. Sound like a good place to take the partners? Yes it is. Crowne Plaza The Crowne Plaza separates itself from the other hotels in that it is downtown. The others are too, but the Crowne is directly across the street from the convention center. The hotel brings a funky flare to the luxurious rooms, with bright colors and groovy furniture. Where the Crowne lacks is in their meeting rooms, they make up for in amenities. The meeting room seats around 600, which is significantly lower than the previous two hotels. Cool rooms, bar, and ambience make the Crowne great. Dolce Hayes Mansion The Hayes Mansion may have a funny name, but it is where productive business meets high -tech. The Dolce is also the preferred meeting place for Fortune 500 executives and CEO's. The 6,600 sq. ft. ballroom is exquisitely placed additional meeting rooms, giving attendees the most space out of any hotel listed. When it comes to luxury and space, this hotel wins hands down. We would have mentioned it first, but the price may be off the radar for some of the Silicones. The Sainte Clair, a Larkspur Just the name is enough to make you want to buy. The purposeful gaudy architecture and design make this hotel a masterpiece. Many people like the Sainte Clair because of the usable space and proximity to the convention center and airport. The Sainte Clair might be most famous for its restaurant though. The Il Fornaio Cucina Italiana is known in all of San Jose for having amazing Italian Food. If you like Italian food as much as I do, this is the place to be.
