There is just so much to see at this university. Walk around 'The Quad', which lies at the heart of the campus. You won't see any students walking through the middle of the quad however, for fear of 'failing exams' if they do. This superstition has been around for years and the only day you'll see students walk through the quad is on graduation day!

Explore the stone corridors of the Aula Maxima and the West Wing, which surround the quad. Here in these cloisters you'll discover a collection of Ogham Stones (4th - 8th century), which once stood in fields in the south west of Ireland. These stones bear an ancient Celtic/Irish form of writing with many notches and lines called Ogham.

You could also relax with a book in the Boole Library - which is named after one of the most famous mathematicians in Ireland in the 19th century - George Boole, or maybe visit the charming Honan Chapel, which was built in 1916. It features a bell-tower and a famous mosaic floor and stained glass windows.

Stroll around the President's Garden and the beautifully manicured lower grounds of the college. Some of the trees on the grounds include mature oaks and giant redwoods which have been around since the college was established back in 1845.
