All year long, people flock to the mountains of Western North Carolina, many of whom opt for Asheville cabin rentals, rather than staying in a hotel. Nestled in a valley and protected from the mountains' harsher weather, the city of Asheville has grown by leaps and bounds over the past ten years. You will also find plenty of areas where you can more or less drive right up to waterfalls and look-out points, so don't worry if you aren't the most avid hiker around- the long trek through the woods is sometimes completely optional.


Hoping to have a family vacation in the area? There are a great many attractions, such as the Biltmore House, the largest privately owned home in the U.S., that are sure to capture the imagination of the whole family. And then of course, there are the many festivals that happen throughout the year. While Belle Chere is a big name festival, many families find that they are just as happy with smaller events such as LAAF (Lexington Avenue Arts Festival) or Shindig on the Green. You might also consider seeing a play in the park, or heading to the drum circle downtown. When it comes to food you might have to take turns picking out the restaurant- there are so many different places to try, so hopefully you won't be dealing with picky eaters!

Of course, when you think about family vacations, the big question is how much of the family gets to come? The four-legged members of your family don't have to be left behind on this vacation! With as many Asheville pet friendly cabins that exist, you're sure to find one that suits your needs, whether you want total isolation or you'd be down for staying at a cabin situated on a working farm. Cabins are a nice option for nights when you'd rather eat in, and for evenings where "staying in" means sitting in a hot tub, looking out at all the stars in the sky that you'd never even noticed before.
